nVidia κάρτα γραφικών και ανάλυση οθόνης.

Καλησπέρα σας και καλή χρονιά σε όλους με υγεία...!!!

Επέστρεψα με καινούρια εγκατάσταση να σας "ζαλίσω και πάλι".

Μόλις τελείωσε η εγκατάσταση του Arch μου και προσπαθώ να το κάνω πλήρως λειτουργικό και στα μέτρα μου.
Εδώ να ενημερώσω ότι έχω χρησιμοποιήσει ένα αυτοματοποιημένο script που λέγεται Feliz
για την εγκατάσταση από την οποία σας γράφω αυτή την στιγμή.


Το πρόβλημά μου είναι με την οθόνη μου και την ανάλυση της.
Έχω μια LG 19" (4x3) και το μέγιστο που μου σηκώνει είναι 1024x748 ενώ το βέλτιστο είναι 1280x1024.

Μόλις έκανα εγκατάσταση των drivers της nVidia αλλά και πάλι έχω την δυνατότητα μεγαλύτερης ανάλυσης μέσα από το "NVIDIA X Server Setting".

για δωσε μια dmesg και βαλε εδω οτι βγαλει. μηπως εχει καταγραψει καποιο σφαλμα με τον driver. βλεπω οτι εχεις τον propietary driver. στο ουμπουντου που τον ειχα εγω, ολο προβληματα εβγαζε. εχανε το v-sync, εχανε το clocking που την εκανα, οταν σηκωνα τον εξομοιωτη σε SDL mode (hosted graphics), η αποδοση γραφικων του ηταν αξιοθρηνητη (εχω ενα παντζουρι8.1 μεσα στον εξομοιωτη). ανεβασε η καρτα θερμοκρασιες ακομα και οταν δεν εκανε τιποτα. οι drivers ειχαν ριξει και κατι segfaults 2-3 φορες ετσι στο ασχετο.

δεν δοκιμαζεις να πεταξεις εντελως τον propietary driver και να εγκαταστησεις τον nouveau; αλλα ΠΡΟΣΕΞΕ, την απεγκατασταση θα την κανεις απο TTY, ΟΧΙ μεσα απο το γραφικο, γιατι θα διαλυσει. αφου πεταξεις τον propietary, θα εγκαταστησεις τον nouveau, οπως εισαι ηδη στο TTY. ουσιαστικα θα ακολουθησεις αυτο:... https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nouveau
οτι απο αυτα δεν σε ενδιαφερει να κανεις (π.χ. overclock, διπλες οθονες, να κρατησεις και τον propietary, κλπ), απλα προσπερνας τα αντιστοιχα βηματα. για να μπορεις να ρυθμιζεις την αναλυση, θα εγκαταστησεις το προγραμματακι lxrandr, αν δεν εχεις ηδη καποιο γραφικο εργαλειακι ρυθμισης για την οθονη.

σε debian που εχω και εγω τον nouveau πλεον ολα τρεχουν αψογα. ουτε ανεβαζει θερμοκρασιες η καρτα, ουτε χανει το v-sync, (για clocking δεν εχω δοκιμασει ακομα) το SDL του εξομοιωτη λειτουργει τοσο αψογα, που μπορω να παιξω ακομα και παιχνιδια εκειμεσα. προφανως οχι βεβαια τοσο καλα οσο αν θα ηταν native, αλλα ενω ο propietary εκλανε συνεχεια πομολα, ο nouveau «το'χει» ακομα και στον εξομοιωτη. ιδου... yandere simulator :D:lolx:...

Πράγματα που μπορείς να κοιτάξεις σε πρώτη φάση:
  • Βεβαιώσου ότι έχεις το σωστό driver.
  • Βεβαιώσου ότι αφαίρεσες εντελώς το nouveau, γιατί «χτυπάνε» αν είναι εγκατεστημένα ταυτόχρονα. Δες ας πούμε αν στο /etc/mkinitcpio.conf αναγράφεται στα MODULES το nouveau και, αν ναι, αφαίρεσέ το και ξαναχτίσε το mkinitcpio.

Ερωτήσεις:
  • Χρησιμοποιείς περισσότερες από μία οθόνες ταυτόχρονα;
  • Πώς συνδέεται η «προβληματική» οθόνη; VGA, HDMI, κάτι άλλο;
  • Ποια βήματα έκανες (με όσες περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες θυμάσαι) από την απεγκατάσταση του nouveau μέχρι τις ρυθμίσεις που έχεις τώρα;

Στοιχεία που μπορείς να μας δώσεις (με συνδεδεμένη μόνο την LG):
  • Τα περιεχόμενα του /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
  • Τα περιεχόμενα του /etc/X11/xorg.conf ή όποιου άλλου αρχείου τυχόν υπάρχει στο φάκελο /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d και σχετίζεται με την οθόνη.
  • Το αποτέλεσμα της εντολής xrandr, για να δούμε τη μέγιστη ανάλυση που βλέπει το σύστημα.

Κάτι που μπορείς να δοκιμάσεις:
  • Αν υπάρχει το /etc/X11/xorg.conf, πάρ' το από κεί που είναι, αποθήκευσέ το κάπου για να μην το χάσεις, κάνε επανεκκίνηση, μην ανοίξεις καμία ρύθμιση οθόνης και δώσε πάλι το xrandr. Ενδέχεται οι αυτοματοποιημένες ρυθμίσεις να δουλεύουν σωστά και να τις χαλάει το εργαλείο της NVIDIA.
Το άπλυτο κορμί το πλένεις. Καθαρίζει. Η βρόμικη ψυχή πώς πλένεται;

Δεν έκανα ποτέ απεγκατάσταση του nouveau απλά εγκατάσταση των πακέτων που ανέφερα και ποιο πάνω και κατόπιν είδα ότι χρησιμοποιεί τους drivers της nVidia.

  • Βεβαιώσου ότι έχεις το σωστό driver.
  • Βεβαιώσου ότι αφαίρεσες εντελώς το nouveau, γιατί «χτυπάνε» αν είναι εγκατεστημένα ταυτόχρονα. Δες ας πούμε αν στο /etc/mkinitcpio.conf αναγράφεται στα MODULES το nouveau και, αν ναι, αφαίρεσέ το και ξαναχτίσε το mkinitcpio.

ωπα μισο... ειχει τον nouveau και τον πεταξε; επειδη δεν το γραφει. το εψαξα και η καρτα του υποστηριζεται πληρως απο τον nouveau. κανονικα δεν θα πρεπει να εχει καθολου προβληματα με τον nouveau, ουτε ειναι θεμα driver γενικα αυτο. αλλου ειναι το θεμα. απο τη στιγμη που η μια οθονη (LG19") βγαζει 1024Χ768 και η αλλη (samsung20") βγαζει της κανονικη της αναλυση (1680Χ1050), δεν ειναι το συστημα του.

αν ηταν το συστημα του, οτι οθονη και αν εβαζε, θα εβγαζε μονο 1024Χ768. η LG19" δεν δινει τα σωστα edid στην καρτα, οποτε η καρτα ενεργοποιει αυτοματα μια failsafe αναλυση, για να μην δημιουργησει προβλημα στην οθονη (ειχα και εγω ακριβως το ιδιο θεμα με μια οθονη παλιοτερα). στα dmesg δεν ειδα να εχει καπου σφαλματα για drivers, και ουτε προσεξα να αναφερουν κατι διαφορετικο σε καθε περιπτωση.

αυτο να υποθεσω οτι ειναι απο την «προβληματικη» οθονη. οπως το υποψιαστικα, δεν μπορει η καρτα γραφικων να διαβασει τα edid (πληροφοριες χρονισμου και αναλυσης) της οθονης. οποτε δεν ξερει ποια ειναι η σωστη αναλυση, και βαζει μια «ασφαλη», για να μην γινει ζημια. καπου πιο πανω ομως ειδα ανακατεμενα nouveau και nvidia drivers. δεν τα πετας ΟΛΑ, και να εγκαταστησεις ΜΟΝΟ εναν driver που θα κρατησεις;

Άκου να δεις τι γίνεται, φίλε Λεωνίδα.

Εγώ δεν έχω ιδέα από NVIDIA αλλά «ξέρω» από Arch κι o DarkGoth δεν έχει ιδέα από Arch αλλά «ξέρει» από NVIDIA και γενικά έχει ασχοληθεί με κάρτες και τέτοια συμπράγκαλα. Σου έκανα λοιπόν ερωτήσεις για να δώσεις στοιχεία που ίσως τον βοηθήσουν να εντοπίσει το πρόβλημα κι αν τυχόν χρειαστεί κάτι που να είναι πιο συγκεκριμένο για το Arch, θα επέμβω κι εγώ.

Αν δεν (απ)εγκατέστησες το nouveau, πιθανότατα δεν το έβαλες καθόλου. Επειδή όμως είσαι κακό παιδάκι και χρησιμοποίησες install script, ενδέχεται να το εγκατέστησε αυτό. Οπότε, για να αποκλείουμε πιθανότητες, δώσε ένα

Αυτό με το EDID είναι γνωστό (και επαναλαμβανόμενο) πρόβλημα, εμφανίζεται σε όλες τις διανομές και φταίει αποκλειστικά η ρουφιάνα η NVIDIA. Θα κάνω μια τσάρκα στο forum του Arch, γιατί μου φαίνεται κάπου πέτυχα κάτι ανάλογο χθες. Και θα σε συμβουλέψει και ο Dark.

δυστυχως δεν ειναι θεμα της ρουφιανας της nvidia. πολλες οθονες εχουν κακογραμμενο edid code. για να μην πω κατι χειροτερο για propietary μαλακιες, φτιαγμενα επιτηδες ετσι, που διαβαζονται σωστα μονο απο «αλλα λειτουργικα». οποτε αν το συστημα δεν μπορει να διαβασει το edid και εχει failsafe θα το χρησιμοποιησει, για να μην γινει «ζημια». και το λινουκς ειναι πολυ ευαισθητο πανω σε αυτο το θεμα. παω στοιχημα, οτι αν την ιδια οθονη (την LG19") τη βαλεις σε παντζουρια θα πιασει κανονικα την αναλυση της. το ιδιο ακριβως εκανε και η οθονη αυτη που ελεγα εγω που ειχα. σε παντζουρια επιανε κανονικα την αναλυση της.

απο συμβουλες δυστυχως δεν εχω τιποτα σιγουρο, αν και το εχω ψαξει αρκετα:...

θα βρεις πολλους να δινουν σαν λυση τη χρηση framebuffer/vesa αντι για drivers (με καταχωρηση στο xorg.conf. αντικαθιστουν δηλαδη τον driver με τη λεξη vesa, vesafb, η, κατι παρεμφερες). αλλα το framebuffer/vesa δεν δινουν 3d acceleration. ο ιδιος δεν το εχω δοκιμασει, οποτε δεν ξερω αν εχει αποτελεσμα. αλλα αν δεν εχει 3d acceleration δεν λεει. τι να το κανεις;

θα βρεις αλλους που δινουν forced settings αναλυσης και framerate στο xorg.conf (αλλαζουν δηλαδη την αναλυση που αναφερεται εκειμεσα, με αυτη που θελουν) , ωστε να αναγκασουν την οθονη να πιασει την αναλυση που θελουν (το εχω δοκιμασει πολλες φορες και ποτε δεν λειτουργησε. το συστημα το αγνοουσε πληρως και εβγαζε μονο την ηλιθια χαζοαναλυση)

αλλοι δινουν την αναλυση σαν bootcode. δηλαδη, στην αρχη που εμφανιζεται ο bootloader σταματανε την αντιστροφη μετρηση, και κανουν edit στη γραμμη με τις επιλογες του πυρηνα, προσθετοντας κατι σαν vga=795. αυτο συνηθως πιανει (εγω το χρησιμοποιω στον εξομοιωτη οταν θελω να αλλαξω αναλυσεις, γιατι δεν αλλαζει μεσα απο το λειτουργικο)

Πράγματι σε Win 7 σηκώνει κανονικά 1280x1024.
Σε Antergos πάλι όμως με 340.xxx.xxx nVidia driver 1024x768 και σε mint 18.1 live που λογικά παίζει με nouveau πάλι 1024x768.

Μπορείτε να μου πείτε σας παρακαλώ πως και που το κάνω αυτό μήπως την βρω την άκρη στο τέλος, γιατί κατόπιν θα μείνω με μια 17" δυστυχώς...
